I have no idea how to photograph something this large. What we have here is a washed out version of the 'miniature' I painted for a commission. It weighs a ton, and has to fly to Australia!

The Pride of the third demands nothing less than a limited edition Pimus Medicae. The apothecary cast within the third is quite prestigious and I imagine it would become semi divine in its interactions after the heresy.

An update on the previous entry - The Emperor's Children Leviathan dreadnought commission. Forge World decals just add so much to a paint job. It adds freehand detail without the stress of actual freehand!

Chaplain Charmosian was the Chaplain of the 18th Company, and one of the most senior members of the Legion. He acted as a member of Fulgrim's honour guard during the later stages of corruption leading up to Istvaan III, when he was killed by Lucius.

Solomon Demeter was Captain of the Second Company, who played a major role in Fulgrim. He remained loyal to the Emperor, but was badly wounded in the firestorm on Istvaan. Apothecary Vaddon helped to heal him, and he returned to the fight against the Traitor Legions. While defending the Precentor's Palace, Demeter discovered Lucius fighting against a group of Astartes and came to his aid. It was not until only Lucius and Demeter remain that he realizes that Lucius is returning to the Legion, and he has unwittingly aided a traitor. After a short struggle, Lucius kills Demeter. In his last moments Solomon weeps, not for himself, but because he sees and understands the destruction Horus will cause.

This was a rather special commission.

“I incline to Cain's heresy," he used to say quaintly: "I let my brother go to the devil in his own way.”

Robert Louis Stevenson. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

I think this may be my favourite version of Fulgrim to date. I painted this piece inspired by "The Red Angel" artwork in the Visions of Heresy anthology. This gave me the perfect opportunity to really push the true metallic effects. This was painted alongside a student to demonstrate shaading and juicing techniques to create realistic lights and shadows on a true metallic surface.

Fulgrim's face was also painted as an exercise with a student to demonstrate some advanced face painting techniques.

Lord Commander Eidolon was the pre-eminent commander of the Emperor’s Children. An exemplar of the Legion, he embodied the perfection sought by the sons of Fulgrim. His arrogance and search for perfection led him to the ministrations of Chief Apothecary Fabius in his quest to ‘improve’ upon the designs of the Emperor of Mankind.
A skilled and aggressive warrior who specialised in striking down his foes with a single blow, Eidolon carried a master crafted thunder-hammer and archaeotech pistol in to battle, and made use of a jump pack to strike with speed and surprise. The surgeries he endured enhanced him with a sonic shrieker grafted into his larynx that produced a howl so destructive it could shatter bone and armour.
