Forge World Preyton

Foolhardy knights of Bretonnia sometimes mistake the savage and hateful Preyton for the noble Great Stags of their land, and will follow this twisted beast, possessed of a dark cunning, into the very deepest parts of the forest. Only there, where there is little chance of escape, will it finally reveal its deadly form, its savage fangs, leonine paws and monstrous wings, and attack the unsuspecting warrior.

While their appearance is truly vile, it is the legendary malice of the Preyton that makes them particularly dangerous. Corpses mauled beyond recognition and tracts of forest befouled and trampled betray their presence, the savage creature often discarding the torn ruin of their victims to rot, killing out of pure hatred rather than hunger. Little is known of their origins, but dark legend has it that in ages past they were Great Stags who were enslaved and corrupted before sacrifice-strewn herdstones. Now, bereft of their nobility, the Preytons know only an all-encompassing hatred for that which they have lost.

"I am the Arch-fiend, the Despoiler of Worlds, and by my hands shall the false Emperor fall."

"We were born for battle, Khayon. We were made to conquer the galaxy, not to rot in Hell and die upon our brothers' blades. Who are the architects of the Imperium? Who fought to purge its territory of aliens and expand its borders? Who brought rebellious worlds to heel and slaughtered those who refused the light of progress? Who walked from one side of the galaxy to the other, marking their passage in a trail of treacherous dead? This is our Imperium. Built across the worlds we burned, over bones we broke, with the blood we shed. You see it too. You feel it now, don't you? - A new war. One not born of bitterness nor founded on revenge. - The Long War, Khayon."
— Ezekyle Abaddon sharing his vision for the Long War with the Chaos Sorcerer Iskandar Khayon, formerly of the Thousand Sons

Truthsayers

Truthsayers are the special breed of Druids, native to Albion, that lead the tribes of human Barbarians and have some control over the Giants of Albion
In opposition to the the degenerate humans on the misty island, they are able and skilled magic users that try to protect the artifacts of the Old Ones. Some times they utilise the Giants to move some of the large and heavy Ogham Stones following their visions of fulfilling the great plan of the Old Ones.

Dark Emissaries

Dark Emissary is a former Truthsayer, a sorcerer from the isle of Albion, that uses a specific strand of Chaos magic. This Chaos magic is granted to them by their lord and master, the Daemon Prince Be'lakor. They traveled the Old World and lured power-hungry, greedy or evil armies to the mist shrouded island, to help their Dark Master. Like the pure Truthsayers they are able to create and control the Fenbeasts of Albion. After the defeat of the Dark Master the Dark Emissaries became targets of the revenge from the Truthsayers as well as from their former allies, who felt misused and betrayed by them. They fled the island of Albion and roam now the Warhammer world as Dogs of War, who sell their service to the highest bidder. They will fight for the Hordes of Chaos and the warherds of the Beastmen as well as for Dark ElvesVampire CountsSkaven or Greenskins and even may be hired by some unscrupulous mercenary general or Elector Count from one of the Imperialprovinces. Most notable places where they dwell now are in the Chaos Wastes. Their symbol is a spiral form, a feared and potent sign of dark and Chaotic magic.

I played in the original Shadows of Albion campaign what feels like a life time ago. These models hold some very fond memories for me and reinforces my love for Chris Fitzpatrick sculpts. These models were painted for Animosity Gaming's staggering amazing campaign:

The Truthsayer was painted in warm tones with colours propagating life, fecundity and wholesomeness. The Dark Emissary in contrast has a dour paint scheme, sterile of joy.

I went for a more rusted, worn appearance to the armour rather than the clean lines of the Verminking. The armour was shaded with brown and had scratches added into the armour.
