Rogue Trader 25th Anniversary Model commission.
It feels like the 80's were a weird time to be alive. The artwork of the grim dark future at the time seemed to be the last few dying dregs of humanity, back agains the wall, fighting against the night. There were far fewer triumphal images of Space Marines punching off heads, or Wulfen dancing with daemons. The entire setting had the sense of impending doom that punctuated the Cold War Era. This model is a product of that art. I wanted a dark, sombre mood for this piece. I wanted it to feel like the final few lingering notes of the Midnight Sonata.
The far future is a terrible place to live, and whatever happens, you will not be missed.

oh man, you should have replaced the pole with brass rod. mine sagged under its own weight in a year :( Still great paint though!
ReplyDeleteDamn that is a good idea. I'll do that next time. I really wish this was in resin rather than finecast. Same with the blood Angel games day model.
DeleteAll this decoration is truly adorable. Loved simple yet impressive ideas to decorate party place. Thinking to host a party on our anniversary and searching for affordable Chicago venues to host the party within my budget.
