Mhara Gal Possessed Word Bearers Dreadnought

Unlike other Dreadnoughts in the Forge World range this dreadnought does not have much in the way of possibility. The leg and arm joints are fused with the twisted metal growths of possession. What it lacks in customisability, it makes up for in detail and there is a lot of it. This model was a challagen to paint as the head - one of the focal points of any model is obscured by the 'tooth hood' and your eye is lead across the body rather than too the face. The runes etched into the body of the dreadnought also disrupt the line of the model hindering a coherent sense of the models composition. I decided instead of mitigating the role the runes have to play on the model, to instead highlight them in an unearthly turquoise as if he were emanating power.

When I fist saw this model it brought into mind cyst growths (you know those horrible images that occasionally pop up on your Facebook wall of harlequin births or cysts that have grown teeth and hair - not for the faint of hearted) and I wanted to capture the feel of rampant biological growth by painting the spines on his head as teeth.

A challenging sculpt that is a must for all followers of the true word. Enjoy!
