Sons of Horus Caulan Reavers Commission. What a treat these were to work with. Ever since Horus Rising I've wanted to create these shock troops for the Luna Wolves. Alongside the Justerin, these offer a Sons of Horus collector the opportunity to break up the sea of green with accents of red and black.

If you'd like to paint black like this check out the Patreon - it's the very first video I released and covers a simple way of painting black.

Abaddon and Loken diorama. This was one of the first pieces released for the Heresy series and was one of my first pieces painted on commission when I started the business. It's always a special job when I get one of these on the paint station. Because of this commission I purchased this piece for myself. The quality of the miniatures have stood the test of time and I really hope Forge World will release more diorama pieces.

Paint Black like this by taking the Black armour painting course

Unlike the other Primus Medicae's I've painted the client requested this to be painted in feared Justerin plate. I didn't want to add blood effects or much in the way of grime effects as I wanted this model to be obsessively spit polished. I imagine the character is quite fastidious, relentlessly cleaning equipment, armour etc.

ONLINE MASTERCLASS TUITION

He who would set the Galaxy alight.

Horus was the Primarch of the Luna Wolves Legion, later re-named the Sons of Horus in his honour, and greatest of his superhuman kind. A tactical genius and charismatic battle leader, Horus proved himself over the course of the Great Crusade as a warlord second only to the Emperor whom he served and called father. So it was that when the Emperor stood apart from the burden of command of the Great crusade, it was Horus that he named Warmaster in his stead. But ambition and pride festered within the Warmaster's heart and at Davin he fell, and the lies and corruption of the Warp infected his soul.

++++++++

The aim with this miniature was to stress the malevolence of the Warmaster. I wanted to push the contrast in the face and the under lighting to show the darker side of Horus' fall.

This model was painted as part of a masterclass series of online tuitions, guiding the student through painting marble, freehand and faces. Please check out the below link for information on how to sign up for these masterclass courses:

A Collection of Horus Heresy characters I have painted. The character series offers the opportunity to refine some techniques. The Alpha Legion armour was particularly difficult to produce a strong contrast with metallic paints and washes.

Abaddon and Loken still remain one of my favourite pieces prodcued by Forge World and seeing Sevetar in model form is an absolute treat. Roll on Argel Tal!
