From my own collection - the mighty Sicaran battle tank! When I think of the outline of a typical Crusade Era force I think of Spartans, Contemptors and Sicaran battle tanks. I haven't had much luck with it on the table top (even though I've suffered an Iron Warrior Sicaran pop my Levithan in one turn of shooting). '

If you'd like to paint this red check out the video tutorial I've made for it:

Iron Hands Legion Sicaran

+++++++++++++++++++++

Paints used: Vallejo, Reaper Master Series, Games Workshop Washes, Com Art Medea Airbrush
Paint Brushes: Rosemary & Co. Raphael 8040, Broken Toad Brushes

My second Sicaran and boy does this kit keep giving. It's one of the easier kits to fit together but make sure you have some pretty heavy duty files to smooth out the resin injection at the end of the tracks. I used an Iwata HP High Line to put in the basic lines of highlighting. I used Com Art Medea Light Gray with progressively more white until I was using nearly pure white. I then used my favourite trick when painting black armour and gave the entire tank an airbush wash with Reaper Master Series Turquoise. I then reapplied the grey highlights for the final Airbrush stages.

I used Pro Pigment weathering power Burnt Sienna to contrast with the blue tint in the armour. I also used Vallejo Liquid Gold Bronze for the weapon casings to give more visual interest to the piece. A few well placed Forge World Iron Hands accessory pieces and voila - A Sicaran Iron Hands battle tank ready to get destroyed at Istvaan.

 Honoured Sons of Horus Typhon 'Devourer' of The Sons of Horus Legion, Second Millenial
[Pict-capture Istvaan V Massacare]

This Typhon HEavy Seige Tank was honoured with the personal sigil of the Warmaster; The Eye of Terra in honour of services rendered to the Imperium breaking the wall at Ullva Prime. The shattering of what was believed by the native Xenos to be the impenetrable defense battery of void shields and a forty foot thick plasteel shell saw the sacking and ultimate extinction of the Ner'Vei.

This tank was reported damaged beyond repair and is thought to have been stripped for parts after the Istvaan V Massacare.

Painted in tandem with the Sons of Horus Sicaran this was the first super heavy I had tackled. Transferring my well used 28-34mm techniques onto a bigger canvas was a very pleasurable challenge . I found that I had to add my own details to the large flat surfaces of faded shading to break it up a little. I copied the gang markings on Abaddons armour to add some freehand to the surfaces.

Sicaran Tetras, The Bastard of Beltragh. Heavy Ordnance of the Sons of Horus, Eighth Millenial
[Pict-capture Twelve Emperor's Insurrection]

Fogred at Mars the machine spirit of Teras had a reputation as having a bilious disposition. It would continue to exhibit malfunctions of an esoteric nature until its unconfirmed destruction in M37.
However this war machine had several notable kills before and during the Heresy. Agemenom, Captain of the Raven Guard's Shrike Legion, Vakaris the Glutton and the Xenos Lord Brakka Noin all fell to Tetras. Its last days saw it in the service of Iron Warriors annexing the Prmary Star system of Fell [Cross REF. The Bastard of BeltraghXXXIIII - Inquisitorial Seal Magenta].

This is the first large vehicle I have tackled from forgeworld. The tracks were the biggest obstacle to overcome in an otherwise supreme kit. The metals were painted using the tutorial of the Red Scoripion Land Raider Foreworld Master Class Vol. 2. The Sons of Horus Green was painted with a mixture of Reaper Master Series Peacock Green and Reaper Master Series Twilight Grey, adding white to the mix for the highlights. This was then given a coat of Coelia Greenshade to make the armour really pop. Chipping was added with a sponge.
