Infamy Bust Uncle John
I wanted a darker vibe with this miniature so I used the notes written by Grant Morrison in the back of Arkham Asylum concerning the Mad Hatter. I painted the irises in different colours with a purple undertone to the flesh, as if the blood weren't quite a healthy red. The more I painted it the more it resembled Arsene Wenger! But with a parrot and a capuchin!

At the heart of our Chapter lies the riddle. We are beings not made to contemplate the paradox, it is enough that we know it, and carry it out among the stars. As long as a single Dark Angel remains in the universe, the Truth will be known, protected by the riddle.
Our story is not one of retribution, but of mercy. Think on it. Imagine, the Lord of our Legion, The Lion El'Johnson standing in the ashes of his home; In his hand, retribution - a blade suspended above the head of his brother, ready to strike. Aching to strike... but he stayed his hand. In the End he erred and the snake lived.
Why? What does this story tell us of ourselves? What may we take from it into the future? How do those last actions of our Pregenitor echo through time and play out in our actions today?
Consider this young master, for it is an aspect of the riddle you must answer, and in so doing, know yourself and our Chapter the better.

New year, new toys - I'm still figuring out how to get the best pictures from my new camera. The above are my very frustrating results to produce a decent shot.
Dark Vengeance Ravenwing bikers painted for a commission. Models are awesome to paint and I decided to use super duper glowy effects people love to see. I painted these miniatures with mute, neutral tones to reflect their mode of ware fare and had the flashes of light for a little contrast.

It's been a while since my last update but there are lots of treats coming up in the near future.
This is the second Hellbrute I have painted from the Dark Vengeance set (here is the first). I wanted more contrast between the armour and skin this time, so I painted the fleshy parts in a more natural, aggravated fashion.
Painted with oils and acrylic.
