Mysteries abound in the Age of Darkness. So many personnel files consigned to magenta level secrecy codes, wholesale data purging during our current age, and so much simply left unrecorded in the desolation of the Empire in deep space.

The origins of the Epistolary ['Revelation'] is an enigma in a time of fractured truths. A minor figure in the Heresy his later involvement in the fall of Gairados and similarities between the Auric Tyrant has made him a figure of interest to Inquisition kill claves.

Explorator fleet 133 took possession of the somnolent 'Revelation' in the aftermath of the Taakan Reeva campign. The 344th Iron Hands exploratory fleet encountered a dead Hulk, or more accurately several dead space craft of unknown and imperial origin orbiting one another in installer space. A Blood Angel strike cruiser was found admits the wreckage, containing several dozen life support sarcophagi unique to the IXth.

It is unclear whether this is a Libraian of the IXth, his embellished armour reflecting some Word Bearer iconography. It is known that he served alongside the 133rd and survived the Siege, later galvanising shattered traitor elements...[REDACTED]...

This is the librarian of my burgeoning Blood Angel Heresy collection. It's starting to look somewhat like an army now! From the outset I knew I wanted a Librarian for my force. The Blood Angels were one of the founding Legions of the Librarius program (indeed, it turns out much of the initial lore used to teach the legions Librarians was gleaned from the repositories of Baal - see Inferno).

I did however want something different from the usual blue armoured marines. In this time, to wield psychic powers was in direct violation of the Edict of Nikkea. I wanted this Librarian to look like the choice to wield his powers again had cost him. It made sense to me to include a recidivist element within the make up of the miniature. I used Erebus as the base - the images of purgatory, books hinting at forbidden knowledge and the sculpt made it a perfect for what I wanted.

I went with a singular paint scheme in mind - I wanted this to be an old, faded, desaturated gold with patina streaks for tears. I feel the I've had to sacrifice the readability of the model somewhat to generate atmosphere. In the end it looked like a Klimt painted by Egon Schiele - something I'm immensely proud of.

The back story of this guy evolved from the conversion. His armour didn't always look like this. During a vicious space battle, his strike cruiser was rendered inoperative, so the Blood Angels do what space vampires do and retired to their sarcophagi (early fluff taken from Angels of Darkness). During the decades in the void, the Librarian's latent, subconcious powers empelled him to prey on his brothers, dreaming their dreams, borrowing into their souls. In a kind of weird psychic vampirism,  he killed them to sustain himself. His armour is a warped reflection of the Purgatory he has made for  himself. The revelations of his kinsmen scratched into his armour in Angelic script.

I imagine this character would survive the Siege and go on to found some kind of Astartes Death Cult, rounding shattered elements of any legion who would follow his banner.

Would you like to convert something like this?

Hello and welcome all to a special little personal project of mine. I find that I have to work on some of my own stuff in between commissions to freshen up the palette. I was fortunate to play Necromunda when the boxed set was first released (I even played a campaign weekend in a Games Workshop store - can you imagine doing that today?) Although the gangs each have their appeal I don't feel happy with my collection until I've put my personal stamp on things. the customisation of models along a theme or a story is something that really invigorates me as a hobbyist.

The Dark Knight is one of my favourite films. The opening scene has to be one of the most effective character introductions in film history. Seeing the Joker as a bat shit crazy anarchist was terrifying for me in a way that lingers long after the film is over. What could be cooler than creating a Joker themed gang for Necromunda?

The goon masks would allow me to pick and choose models from across the range that I like and fits the equipment list. This goon was my first trail run at making this work. The mask is sculpted on top of his face. I removed the sash thing that hangs between his legs and painted the legs as if they were worn jeans. These models offer a wonderful opportunity to play with different textures. Leather, jean, cloth as well as the broken polluted bases makes this an inspiring project to work on.

Dark Elf Teams are made up of the evil Dark Elfs, a splinter faction from the High Elf civilization now inhabiting the icey land of Naggaroth. They are one of the oldest teams in the Blood Bowl game, having appeared in the first edition of Blood Bowl in 1988.
The Dark Elfs one of the most notoriously evil teams in the Blood Bowl setting, known for underhanded tricks, dark magic, and the occasional sacrifice of losing coaches, opposing teams, and even fans! Historically, they are known for malevolent, spiteful behavior and an aggressive running game.
The Blood Bowl Competition Rules v6 classify the Dark Elfs as an Advanced Team. The general consensus is that the Dark Elfs are the most aggressive of the Elf teams, which requires a slightly more advanced coaching style, given the physical limitations of the Elven racial characteristics.

Something for the weekend. I've been a long time enthusiast of Blood Bowl and the Druchii are my chosen race. However I'm not a fan of the old metal models nor have I seen a third party produced team that has really caught my eye. So I present to you the Naggarond Gorgons in all their dark glory. After completing the team I realised that the blitzers are hard to pick out at a glance so the Gorgons will be receiving some late transfers.

Vio'scious Ch'Ihll is captain of the Raven's Delight, a once great host now greatly diminished to those members who were fleet enough to outpace their pursuers. The moniker Blood Raven was hung about him after his many flights across Naggaroth, fleeing the vengeful blades at his back. The raven is a craven bird in Naggarothi lore and Vio'scious has a growing repute for savaging the weak, helpless and lamed for his continued survival.

Vio’Cious is the Son of Briarch Ch’Ihll the former first Sword of Ch’Ihll, and is an uncle to Cynath Ch’Ihll. Upon the death of Briarch his children sought to take the mantle of first sword of the Ch’Ihll dynasty, thus sparking a bloody internal family affair. Vio’Scious sought to marry Tyriz Mal, daughter of the Dreadlord Daemon of Naggarond, putting a thousand swords to Vio’Scious claim. Unfortunately the Daemon’s men butchered Vio’Scious’ merge household while the newly weds were consummating their marriage. The Blood Raven earned his moniker by stealing away from the highest point of the Marriage tower, his wife cut open and emptied onto to the bridal bed.

He has fled from city to city, raising hosts by borrowing money against the Ch’Ihll name, and having them dashed against stronger forces. His life has been a protracted retreat from the Dark Elf Capitol, running from his siblings, the revenge of his step father and his debtors.

His Preyton, stolen from the docks of Karond Kar in his flight from Naggaroth, mirrors the black cruelty of the Dark Elf well. His current band of mercenaries, the Crow’s Delight, are practiced in lightning raids, thrilling in riding down the weak, the lame and the helpless. although few in number their presence in the Black Prince’s host gives outriders of exceptional resourcefulness and cruelty. But it also gives the Black Prince a problem with an older, ambitious sibling.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Every Dark Elf army needs a pegasus rider doesn't it? I didn't want to create a model just for the sake of gaming purposes as I find these model tend to lack character and are quickly forgotten for the more personal elements of a force. I knew I had to have the Preyton somewhere in my collection and a quick mock up of the old Asdurael Vect Kit seemed like a match made in heaven!

I decided to go for a strong black and red colour scheme. This is an incredibly effective combination but also helped distance the Blood Raven visually from the rest of the Ch'Ihll host. Vio'Cious adds a welcome splash of colour to the force. His Raven's Delight will be a unit of Dark riders that accompany him into battle.

With the changes to the Warhammer World it's hard to see where the force stands at the moment. It was built with 3rd edition sensibilities and 8th edition practicalities. The new edition looks set to break away completely from the past and so there is no reference point to know where to push the force on from here. I'd like to add a unit of crossbowmen, finish the Witch elves and create a unit of Sisters of Slaughter as these are iconic to the army (less so the sisters, I just love the models). To finish it all off though I just may need to go out with a flourish, like the Warhammer Wolrd itself and End Times my Lord onto a Dragon.
