Khai Balan, Cassian Legante 34;14, Sanguinator of the Fifth Host.

Like their counterparts in the III legion, apothecaries held a hunted position within the choirs of Blood Angels, an honoured legacy that persists into the 41st millennium. Although no less exceptional in craft than their brother legions, the changes wrought upon those entering the legion were much more traumatic. Purification of blood with the living blood of the Angel helped mitigate any genetic flaws that existed in the aspirant. The Sanguinator core held potions of this vitae ready to be administered to those whose zealotry overcame reason.

Cassian Legante is here pictured at the fall of Lions gate, previously wounded by an unknown foe. He  is entered into the Mortis records, his gene seed unrecovered.

This model was inspired by a piece of artwork found in the 2nd ed Angels of Darkness codex. Originally this miniature was to be a chaplain, but ultimately the conversion only bore a passing resemblance to the piece and I decided to make him a Primaris Medicae.
